More about Thembalitsha Foundation
Our purpose: We are a diverse team of people who seek to restore hope. Since 1997, Thembalitsha has invested in the communities of South Africa – inspiring change and offering a hand up rather than a handout. By assisting with the development and growth in lives of those in need, we aim to ensure sustainability for each of our projects as we work alongside companies, individuals, and government departments. This holistic approach allows us to offer only the best possible care to the people we serve. We have 7 projects that are involved in education, training and health. Education: 1. Agape Educare: Providing education and loving care. Providing an opportunity for children to receive a solid educational foundation in Asanda Village. 2. Graceland Preschool: Getting education right from the start. We offer hope by providing quality preschool education in Stellenbosch. 3. EduCare Grabouw: Nurturing our youth through their early years. Our community centre, Thembani provides essential Early Childhood Development for children who would otherwise not receive adequate foundation essentials in education. 4. School of Hope: Providing a second chance to vulnerable youth in Observatory, Cape Town. We provide at-risk, vulnerable youth with a second chance at education. Training: 1. Themba Training: Empowering communities through social entrepreneurship. Offering sewing training courses for the impoverished communities in the Helderberg. 2. Themba Connect: Connecting people to their potential through teaching and training. To equip and develop community members in the Eastern Cape while improving lives. We want to help transform the community’s focus to working on their skills and assets, through workshops and training courses. Health: 1. Mama Themba: Equipping mothers to nurture new life. Mama Themba which is located in the Helderberg district of the Western Cape offers essential antenatal & breastfeeding education and support to mothers who wouldn’t otherwise have access to such care and services By assisting with the development and growth in lives of those in need, we aim to ensure sustainability for each of our projects as we work alongside companies, individuals, and government departments. This holistic approach allows us to offer only the best possible care to the people we serve.
