EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Umgeni community Care Centre was formed with a goal to cater for the social well-being of the less fortunate members of the KZN community. The organization provides services to ensure self-sustainable livelihoods. UCEC functions purely as a charitable organization and is currently dependent on monetary and in-kind donations. OUR VISION A holistic Approach to bring a measure of self-relief and a sense of self-worth to less fortunate individuals, families and communities OUR MISSION Empowering people to become self-sustainable OUR FOCUS AREAS ❖ Food security & Basic needs (daily Soup kitchen, weekly Food hampers, Shelter, Clothing, Sanitary pads & other toiletries, Nappies, Baby food, etc.) ❖ Crisis, Recovery & rehabilitation assistance (Counselling, Social Services, HIV/AIDs testing, Program placement & Referrals) ❖ Awareness and Prevention workshops & annual campaigns (Gender Based Violence & Femicide, Human Trafficking, Abuse, HIV/AIDs & TB) ❖ Empowerment & Self Sustainability (Youth Internships, Job search & application assistance, Skills development programs, Small business setup assistance, supporting Pre-school & daycare, assistance establishing Community Gardens) Please email us at admin@ucec.org.za or call us on 031 824 7951 for more information.
