More about Camp Sizanani Life Skills
Camp Sizanani weaves life skills and HIV education into daily activities, along with abundant fun, camaraderie, and adventure. A typical day at camp consists of eight different activity sessions including two sessions that are dedicated to life skills. Daily activities include: swimming, arts and crafts, sports, nutrition, theater, and yoga. Life skills sessions are designed to be engaging and informative about a range of topics including HIV/AIDS, reproductive and sexual health, consent, healthy relationships, and self-esteem. Camp occurs three times per year, in March, September, and December. Each camper can only attend one session so others will have the opportunity to attend camp. However, after camp ends, campers are encouraged to attend bi-weekly Saturday Youth Clubs to continue the camp experience. Those who have not yet attended Camp Sizanani are also encouraged to attend Youth Clubs.
