How can you help?

Help The Sweethearts Foundation with 50 volunteers for recycling tops and tags for wheelchairs

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

The big rule is that we only collect bottle tops with a #2 or #5 resin, which is the little recycling number on the bottle top. As a rule of thumb, we always tell Sweethearts that "if you can drink the product, you can keep the lid." This excludes household detergents, peanut butter, and mayonnaise lids, among others. Absolutely no metal tops, lids, or caps at all. To find your closest collection point, please zoom into your area on this map: http://sweetheartsfoundation.org/your-help/#findcollectionpoints Our collection points are run by wonderful Sweethearts volunteers. We would recommend you contact your closest collection point ahead of time to confirm the exact address and a suitable time and date of delivery. If you don't have a collection point nearby (or even if you do have a collection point nearby), you can become an Official Collection Point for The Sweethearts Foundation. By doing so, you'll be helping us collect and recycle precious #TopsandTags that can make a big difference in the lives of others. It's easy to sign up - just follow the link below, fill in the form, and let us know where you're located.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
