Help Dullstroom Bird of Prey and Rehabilitation Centre raise R60,000 for a drone to assist teaching falcons to thermal & hunt
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Falcons use height and speed to successfully hunt in the wild. To simulate this for our patients, we need to teach them these skills by using a drone with food attached. This will enable them to gain height and hunting maneuvers to "hunt" the lure placed on the drone. Once this is learnt, the falcons can be successfully released into the wild to have a second chance at freedom. We unfortunately do not have enough qualified falconeers in the province to be able to get assistance with flying and teaching using conventional falconry techniques. A drone would be extremely helpful!
