Help Play Africa by donating an experience in a game reserve for our team of 10 to equip them for our exhibition
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
As part of the I am a Scientist exhibition where our team of Play and learning facilitators are teaching children about the many roles for scientists in the Kruger Park, our team is having to explain this to children without having experienced a game reserve themselves. An opportunity to visit a game reserve anywhere in South Africa and experience firsthand the magic of the South African bush, the fauna and flora and the landscape would enhance their facilitation with children even more. The opportunity to do any of the following would be most welcome too - Engage with wildlife conservationists about their role and their work - Engage with an expert in tree identification and study - Make a mould of an animal track to add to your exhibition for children - Experience a river system or watering hole - Learn about samples and research topics, regular things are measured or monitored that happen at a Game Reserve.
Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
