Every Drop Counts

Mother Teresa once said that “we know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean; but if the drop is not there, the ocean will be missing something”. Like Mother Teresa, we believe that each drop counts!

Here’s a story of a patient who is now receiving adequate treatment after one of our staff members discovered her health issue: “I heard that to be counted among the number of patients to be seen at mobile clinic one has to wake up very early in the morning around 5 am.” “An early bird catches the fattest worm” so the proverb says. “Carrying my walking stick, I limped to the mobile clinic” says a 20 year female lady from ext 12 in Diepsloot. “Luckily I made it on time and I did HIV testing and vitals in the triage room (container) and then was seen by a nurse, Sr Saracia. My main complaint was that I could not bear the weight on my right foot as it was swollen and painful. During consultation the nurse realized that my foot was smaller than the other and tender to touch. I was referred to Helen Joseph hospital that then referred me to Edenvale Hospital. Now I’m being treated at their orthopedic clinic on appointments.”
