Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery || Stellenbosch University
"Tomorrow Trust prioritises academic excellence and emphasizes the importance of mental health and leading a balanced lifestyle. In as much as I appreciate having the financial support, the most vital aspect of support for me has been the Psycho-social. One-on-one sessions with Stacey, coupled with the workshops that run throughout the year, have been a fountain of knowledge that keeps giving, allowing me to make guided improvements in my life. I have learnt to be more self-aware, self-confident and I am learning how to deal with my anxiety. As students, I feel as though we go through a lot of silent battles and often forget to take care of ourselves in the process. However, one phone call or even meeting with someone who understands you, truly cares about you, and wants you to succeed, is all you really need sometimes. Knowing that support system is always there, even when I think I don’t need it has an amazing blessing for the past four years – a blessing I am most grateful to Tomorrow Trust for. Tomorrow Trust’s provision of holistic support to its beneficiaries make them pioneers and shining examples for other bursaries in the country. They go above and beyond for their students and are playing a fundamental role in shaping the future of bursaries in South Africa."
