Gillian Monyela (Adam Sorensen's mentee) - Transport Management Graduate UJ Adam helped us with our studies. In 2014, when i was in Grade 12, he got a tutor to help with Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences. That really helped a lot, his wife Naniki also became our mentor. Thanks to Sizanani and the St Mary's programme for helping us since enrolment to the programme and throughout our university studies. Sibabalo Ngozi (Lumka Phala's mentee) - Bcom Accounting Graduate (2018) UJ I joined the St Mary's Saturday classes and the Sizanani Mentorship Programme in 2014 (grade 11). The classes helped me improve my marks in school and the Sizanani programme gave me career guidance. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in accounting, but I just didn't have a clear idea of which accounting path to take. Sizanani introduced me to my kind, friendly and helpful mentor, Lumka Phala. With the help of Lumka and the 'careers choice' sessions on Saturdays' I decided to go the Chartered Accountancy route. In 2019, I was struggling to get registration funding. My mentor and Sizanani came through and rescued me. I registered and did my BCTA programme." Emiola Abass (mentor): “Very rewarding - watching these teenagers develop into adults and knowing that in a little way, I helped them on that journey is heartening.
