The new Constitution mural
Our beautiful new "Children's Rights and the Constitution" mural
With this mural, created by children and three local artists, we celebrate and uplift our democratic Constitution 25 years after it was signed by Nelson Mandela and ratified in December 1996. This mural contains images created by 21 children from neighbouring Hillbrow. The children participated in immersive workshops with local artists and Play Africa play and learning facilitators at Constitution Hill. On South Africa's Day of Reconciliation, Play Africa reaffirmed our commitment to foster national reconciliation and unity. As a united South Africa, we continue the effort to build our democratic nation, as one people united by our Constitution and the essential values of equality, freedom and human dignity.
