How You Can Help Implement Sustainability
We have since visited farms struggling in Gugulethu and thriving urban farms in Cape Town city . We are still currently out on the field every week looking for opportunities and solutions.
We are looking for volunteers at our urban community farms around the Cape. Ladles of Love has partnered with the Ocean View CAN community farm from whom we buy fresh produce to supply our beneficiaries. Right now they need help with a variety of daily tasks to help them continue feeding their community soup kitchens while producing enough to sell at their local market. We need volunteers to help: Plant seedlings and propagate seeds Weeding and clearing land Mulching pathways and crop beds Volunteers must bring their own refreshments, sunscreen and hats/protective gardening clothes. Volunteer slots are 3 hours each and are between Monday to Saturday. Let’s implement sustainability in the Cape together. Volunteers will also learn how to plant and the importance of eating organic.
