SOTO (Story Of The One)

Here is a story of one of our Mentee's that is the reason that we continue doing what we do. When this young lady started with her Mentor only a few years ago was petrified of Dogs, it was so bad that she one day ended up in a Rose garden trying to avoid the Dog. Here she is today standing confidently, calmly stroking the dog. This is not only the end of the story though. Their group had a visitor join them the other day who is petrified of dogs, she confidently explained to the visitor that one of our values is Courage and that we learn to face our fears and overcome them, that is how she overcame her fear of dogs, and that she is happy to help the visitor to overcome her fear of animals. When the Mentor shared this with me I was totally blown away as here is a young lady who is not shy to be vulnerable about her past but also brave to step out and offer to give a helping hand. This is the Reason that each of our Mentors continue doing what they do. Partner with us and help more of our young people become amazing and be part of the move to make positive changes in our country.
