Molo's Story

Molo's mother was 5 months pregnant when her boyfriend left her and disappeared, never to be heard from again. Molo's mother continued with her pregnancy and committed to raise her child, despite being unemployed, functionally illiterate and with little prospect of being able to provide basic means. To escape poverty, 14 months into Molo's life she moved in with a man who promised her financial stability. This man professed his love for her but could not accept baby Molo and she made the heart-breaking decision to approach us to give him up for adoption. Despite our efforts in counselling and the offer of job training, she did not change her decision. Molo lived 2 years with us before being adopted into a wonderful family.
