GRIP Empowers Survivor to Succeed
GRIP helped a survivor pass Matric, get into TUT, and find job opportunities.
GRIP assisted a 19 year old survivor who was raped while doing her Matric on her way from Saturday classes. After her trial was finihsed, our Friends of the Court assisted her with support and she managed to pass Matric. MAMA Ntombifuthi then went further to assist the survivor with applying at TUT Pretoria. She was successfully admitted and studying now – she continues to update MAMA Ntombifuthi. After the case, MAMA Ntombifuthi started a WhatsApp group for Survivors to support each other with TVET and college applications – she also assists them where need be and GRIP posts job opportunities on the group for those survivors who are looking for work. It has been a great initiative by MAMA Ntombifuthi who has been recognised as an Employee of the month recently for her efforts to got he extra mile.
