Eyomphakathi Foundation Food Alleviation program

First interim food parcel campaign for the Eyomphakathi Foundation Food Alleviation program

We would like to thank Shoprite South Africa for contributing to our hunger alleviation program through thier #ACTForChangeFund. On the 19th of September 2021, the Eyomphakathi Foundation distributed its first batch of food parcels to AA Umlazi Township in cooperation with Crown of Eternal Life Bible Church. With the help of three volunteers, we were able to pack and distribute 20 parcels to 155 beneficiaries in our first distribution. A food parcel contained essential items. Our next batch of distribution will take place on October 18th. I would like to thank Shoprite for all you have done for our organization. This Covid pandemic, as well as KZN unrest, and the loss of tourism and jobs have had a devastating effect on the families of Umlazi AA, Q, Intinyane Reserve and their surrounding communities because they are already so poor. We are very grateful for your support, which allows us to help every household with some resilience. A warm meal every day for a month makes a difference to every child in that household. It should be a fundamental right of every human being to go to bed after a full meal, but we should never take it for granted. Therefore, we seek to introduce a soup kitchen to continue with hunger alleviation. But, it would be more ideal if we could get a mobile kitchen that can travel to different areas in the Province. Attached are some photos documenting this week's distribution.
