More about Epic Foundation
The EPIC Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Gauteng, South Africa, established by Alta McMaster in 2013. With a profound understanding of the societal imperative to empower survivors, including women, children, and men, Alta McMaster, herself a survivor of rape, founded the organization. Her personal story of transforming violation into a remarkable triumph can be found at www.epicfoundation.org.za. Since 2010, the EPIC Foundation has been dedicated to supporting survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Gauteng through its Comfort Pack project. Over the past decade, the organization has provided assistance to over 60,000 survivors. This aid has been extended from small victim empowerment centers, which are affiliated with local police stations, to larger rape crisis and trauma centers, as well as hospitals. While the Comfort Pack Project remains our primary focus, we also offer additional services such as counseling and support groups, referrals for legal advice and court preparation, educational and awareness campaigns, motivational talks, skills development through our Step-Up Project, and assistance to matric students with year-end dance outfits through our Fairy Godmother Project.
