More about Entsika Foundation
Entsika Foundation’s primary mission and vision are to touch lives and make a difference in the community by developing, mentoring and supporting young people to be great leaders. The Foundation then entered into a Partnership with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to advance the education, skills development and training of deserving previously disadvantaged students from the rural areas and townships of South Africa. In 2018 the foundation started a bursary program with the objective to -provide high-performing previously disadvantaged matriculants with the opportunity to obtain a quality university education -Enhancing the development of critical skills i.e Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Accounting and Auditing, Actuarial Science, in identified sectors of the economy -Increasing the chances of sustainable employment for qualifying beneficiaries after completion of their studies-Alleviation of poverty through extended financial assistance to students and their families -Exposing beneficiaries to experiential learning in a real-life work environment in their fields of study -Provision of opportunity to beneficiaries not only to join the job market but to further their studies or to become entrepreneurs and lastly, the provision of dedicated Mentors to guide and coach students through their academic and professional development. More than 90 students have been on our program in top universities in SA, to date the we have celebrated the graduations of 17 students.
