Making Over the Nursary at Orthandweni
CEEP together with students, members of the public and corporates have helped us make over the nursery and paint, walls, ceiling and then do murals in the nursery. The murals are educational and designed to be used by the Gogos ( these are paid volunteers ) to be used to do educational activites with the children
CEEP started working with students from St Johns Colledge, members of the public and corporates who assisted us to paint the nursery. This took place over the weekends. Rooms were painted by different teams over different days The ceilings were painted as they had not being painted in a while. Murals were designed by the social workers to be used by the Gogos ( they are paid volunteers who spend the morning interacting with the children ) The murals depict animals, letters and numbers that are used as teaching aids so that the children can be exposed to these concepts. The project was funded by sponsorship of the volunteers who assisted with the painting. The project was overseen by our volunteer coordinators who made sure the projects went off professionally Finally the mural were sealed so that the walls can be wiped in case of an out break of an infectious disease Thanks to everybody who assisted Feedback is attached from the home in the documents section
