How Alice found Thato...

How we change a little life, together.

Alice found Thato on a rubbish heap in Tembisa. A newborn baby, he was rescued and taken to hospital. When the social worker brought him to us, she also brought along a beautiful little pack of clothes, nappies, blankets, and baby goodies that Alice had brought to the hospital. It’s estimated that over 11,000 babies each year are abandoned across South Africa. About 1 in 3 of these children survive to make it into hospital and then into institutional homes. We are a Babies Home dedicated to giving them excellent care. We work hard to make a beautiful, caring, safe home where they will be loved and nurtured. With the support of many community partners, we rebuild their foundations. Many hands contribute, and the result is strong toddlers who are meeting their milestones on time, happy, healthy, and ready to connect into Forever Families. Alice started the journey for Thato, passing him on to the next hands. We pick up that mantle for Thato and another 12-14 babies each year. Together, we can transform their rocky, vulnerable start to life into a foundation for a bright future. Become a community partner for a home like us! There are plenty of worthy in our area: New Jersualem Children's Home, Yenzani, and Botshabelo Babies Home are just a few. (names have been changed to protect privacy)
